Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), a department within Facilities Services, provides environmental health and safety leadership, expertise, guidance, and service to ISU. EHS continually seeks and supports improvements in conditions and practices designed to foster a safety-minded culture that is committed to protecting the well-being of employees, students, and visitors as well as our community and the environment. EHS is responsible for the development and implementation of policies, programs, and procedures based on relevant regulatory standards, codes, and best practices. EHS is comprised of technical subject matter experts who provide services in fire and life safety, code compliance, emergency medical services, occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, environmental regulatory compliance, lab and research safety, food safety and campus sanitation, and workers' compensation.
